Truck & Trailer Air Brake Repair in Edmonton
Air brake inspection and repair for trucks and trailers in Edmonton: drums, shoes, slack adjusters, chambers, valves and air leaks.
Brakes are the most common reason trucks are put out of service at roadside inspections. In the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance's 2025 International Roadcheck, across Canada, the US and Mexico, brake system violations made up almost a quarter of all vehicle out-of-service violations. Typical problems are push rods past their stroke limit, worn linings, cracked drums, and air leaks that stop the system building pressure fast enough.
A brake job usually starts with a full check of the air system, so a leaking valve or failing air dryer gets fixed along with the worn parts. Brakes are also checked in the annual CVIP inspection, so fixing them first can save a failed inspection. For trailer brakes, see semi trailer repair.
Common jobs
- Brake shoes, drums and hardware
- Automatic slack adjusters and push rod stroke adjustment
- Brake chambers and spring brakes
- Air leaks, valves, air dryers and compressors
- ABS faults on trucks and trailers
Have this ready when you call
- Year, make and model of the truck or trailer, and the unit number if it's a fleet unit
- Where the unit is now, and whether it can be driven safely
- Any warning lights or fault codes on the dash
- When the problem started and what it's doing (noise, smoke, power loss, air leak)
- A PO number, if your company uses them
Common questions
My truck builds air slowly. Is it safe to drive?
Slow air build-up usually means a leak, a worn compressor or a failing air dryer. If the low-air warning stays on or the spring brakes drag, don't drive it; call and describe what the gauges show.
